Vor 90 Jahren — am 28. September 1928 — entdeckte Sir Alexander Flemming das Penizillin. Daher kann man den 28.09. auch als den Tag der Penizillinallergie bezeichnen. Das zur Gruppe der ß-Laktam-Antibiotika gehörende Medikament ist nicht nur das am häufigsten verwendete Antibiotikum, sondern zeichnet sich auch durch seine gute Verträglichkeit aus. Es gibt aber zwei Probleme: zum einen die zunehmende Resistenzentwicklung der Bakterien, zum anderen die häufig beobachteten allergischen Reaktionen.
