Bei einer regulären Blutspende von 500 ml werden ca. 250 mg Eisen entfernt, das aus vorhandenen Eisenspeichern oder durch die Nahrungseisenaufnahme ersetzt werden muss. Wie hoch ist die Gefahr der Entwicklung eines Eisenmangels? Gelingt es in der Praxis problemlos, diesen zu verhindern? Was könnte in der Betreuung von Blutspendern verbessert werden, um dieses Risiko zu minimieren?
