In seltenen Fällen kann sich hinter Schmerzen im Hüftgelenk ein tenosynoviale Riesenzelltumor verbergen. Er zählt zu den proliferativen Erkrankungen der Synovialmembran und wird von manchen Autoren auch als semimaligne beschrieben.
