Ein 68-jähriger Patient mit seit 15 Jahren bestehendem Diabetes mellitus Typ 2 stellt sich vor, da er seit einigen Tagen Doppelbilder sehe und die Augenbewegung eingeschränkt sei. Außerdem würde das linke Auge „dauernd nach außen unten schauen“. Wesentliche Schmerzen habe er keine.
