Die gastro-ösophageale Refluxkrankheit (GERD) wird häufig vom Hausarzt diagnostiziert. Sie liegt gemäß Montreal-Klassifikation vor, wenn ein Reflux von Mageninhalt störende Symptome und/oder Komplikationen verursacht. Viele Patienten brauchen zunächst keine Endoskopie — man muss aber wissen, wann der Punkt gekommen ist.
