E-Zigaretten werden von Rauchern zunehmend zur Tabakentwöhnung eingesetzt. Sie gelten als weniger schädlich, und erste Studien zeigen, dass sie die Chancen für einen Rauchstopp erhöhen. In Deutschland wird die E-Zigarette bisher jedoch nicht zur Raucherentwöhnung empfohlen — und diese Zurückhaltung wird durch aktuelle Studienergebnisse gestützt.
