Der 67-jährige Raucher beklagt seit geraumer Zeit eine Einschränkung der körperlichen Belastbarkeit. Er müsse auf gerader Strecke wegen Luftnot häufiger stehen bleiben. Treppensteigen vermeide er nach Möglichkeit. Auch der ständige Husten mit mal weniger, mal mehr Auswurf, meistens weißlich, störe ihn erheblich.
