Mittlerweile gibt es immer mehr Hinweise, dass das Mikrobiom auch bei der Entstehung von Diabetes mellitus eine Rolle spielt. Welche aktuellen und zukünftigen Möglichkeiten sich daraus für die Therapie ergeben, fasst der nachfolgende Beitrag zusammen.
