Eine kausale Therapie der diabetischen Polyneuropathie ist nicht in Sicht. Für die symptomatische Therapie stehen jedoch eine Reihe systemisch wirkender Medikamente zur Verfügung, wobei Kombinationen effektiver sind als eine Monotherapie. Auch lokale und nicht-pharmakologische Verfahren zeigen eine gute Wirksamkeit.
