Die Lungenfunktion war bisher eine wesentliche Basis der Therapiewahl bei COPD. Das ist nicht länger der Fall. So sieht es das neue Klassifizierungsschema vor, das zugleich auch die neue Grundlage der Therapieentscheidung ist. Die Aktualisierung der bisherigen GOLD-Empfehlungen signalisiert damit in gewisser Weise eine Wende beim Management der COPD.
