Die ambulant erworbene Pneumonie ist häufig und dabei keineswegs ungefährlich. In der Praxis wichtig sind die rasche Einleitung einer Antibiotikatherapie ohne allzu viele diagnostische Maßnahmen und die Beantwortung der Frage, ob der Patient ambulant behandelt werden kann oder in die Klinik muss.
