Ein zufällig diagnostiziertes Vorhofflimmern ist mit einem erhöhten Risiko für Schlaganfall, Herzinfarkt oder vorzeitigen Tod verbunden. Auch bei diesen Patienten senkt eine Therapie mit oralen Antikoagulanzien das Risiko deutlich.
