Immer mehr ältere Menschen betreiben heute verschiedenste Sportarten auf einem gesteigerten Leistungsniveau. Der sport­lichen Betätigung werden dabei – neben sozialen, biologischen und psycho­logischen – ins­besondere auch präventive medizinische bzw. prophylak­tische Komponenten zuge­rechnet. Wichtig ist allerdings, die Belastung an altersbedingte Komorbiditäten anzupassen.
