Typ-2-Diabetes-Risiko bei früher Menarche

Die Zunahme von Typ-2-Diabetes in den letzten Jahrzehnten korreliert mit einer Abnahme des durchschnittlichen Alters zum Zeitpunkt der Menarche. Es ist gut belegt, dass ein frühes Menarche-Alter mit einem höheren BMI im späteren Leben assoziiert ist und dass ein erhöhter BMI an sich einen Risikofaktor für die Entwicklung eines Typ-2-Diabetes darstellt.
