Papillae coronae glandis sind immer wieder Anlass vor allem für junge Männer, ärztlichen Rat zu suchen aus Sorge, dass diese Hautveränderungen am Penis gefährlich oder ansteckend sind. Nicht selten fühlen sich die Betroffenen auch nach Aufklärung über die Harmlosigkeit des Befundes in Bezug auf das Erscheinungsbild ihres Genitales beeinträchtigt.
