Die Verordnung von Magensäure-Blockern erhöht nicht das gastrointestinale Infektionsrisiko. Es ist vielmehr so, dass mit PPI behandelte Patienten schon vor dieser Therapie ein erhöhtes Infektionsrisiko aufwiesen.
