Die Therapie der unkomplizierten Hypertonie ist heute kein Hexenwerk: Eskalation mit einer, zwei, ggf. drei Substanzen, möglichst in Fixkombination. Spannender ist die Behandlung bei speziellen Patientengruppen, etwa Diabetikern, sehr betagten Patienten, solchen mit resistenter Hypertonie. Gerade für Letztere gilt: Erst alle potenziellen Ursachen gründlich abklären, bevor eine interventionelle Therapie erwogen werden sollte.
