Neurologische Komplikationen als Langzeitfolge der HIV-Infektion und antiretroviralen Therapie nehmen aufgrund der längeren Lebenserwartung an Bedeutung zu. Die schmerzhafte Polyneuropathie als häufigste neurologische Manifestation wird in der nachfolgenden Kasuistik eines 48-jährigen, HIV-positiven Patienten mit multiplen Vorerkrankungen vorgestellt.
