Zusammenfassung
Verhaltenssüchte sind eine relativ neue Form von Suchterkrankungen, die sich im Gegensatz zu klassischen substanzgebundenen Süchten auf die exzessive Ausführung bestimmter Verhaltensweisen beziehen. Erste Wirksamkeitsstudien belegen, dass die Behandlung von Verhaltenssüchten auf der Basis von kognitiv-verhaltenstherapeutischen Ansätzen gute Erfolge erzielt. Dabei konzentriert sich der psychotherapeutische Prozess insbesondere auf die Identifikation und Modifikation basaler Lernmechanismen, die der Erkrankung zugrunde liegen.
