Diagnostik und Therapie der Altersdepression

Besonderheiten der Depression im Alter

Zusammenfassung

Altern als fortlaufender biologischer, psychologischer und sozialer Prozess hat profunden Einfluss auf psychiatrische Erkrankungen. Konventionelle Altersgrenzen entlang dieses Kontinuums sind das 18. Lebensjahr für die Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie und das 65. Lebensjahr für die Alterspsychiatrie. Aufgrund der Zunahme der Altersgruppe der über 65 Jährigen um 20 % in den nächsten zehn Jahren werden ältere Patienten mit Depressionen im ambulanten und stationären psychiatrischen und psychotherapeutischen Behandlungsrahmen zunehmen.
