Nahezu 35.000 Mitglieder zählt die American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) heute – etwa ein Drittel in der US-amerikanischen Fachgesellschaft sind internationale Kollegen. Wie wichtig die Tagung für den wissenschaftlichen Gedankenaustausch ist, zeigte die Besucherzahl in diesem Jahr: insgesamt 34.750 Teilnehmer aus mehr als 120 Ländern waren in Chicago vor Ort. Aus der Vielzahl neuer Daten kann hier nur eine Auswahl präsentiert werden.
