Professor De Bleecker is right. The causing agent in this case was not Paraquat, but an organophosphate namely Parathion. Toxicological examination on gastric fluid of the patient indicated the presence of Parathion and traces of Sulfotep and Diazinon, both are also organophosphates. Most important is that the title and the conclusions of our case report remain correct: the symptoms indeed were due to an organophosphate intoxication [1].
