Notes

  1. The WBGU (2011) defines the term “Great Transformation” as a structural transition to a sustainable society, which must proceed within planetary limits and include a new social contract for transformation in people’s consciousness.

  2. SUSTAIN IT! members come from diverse academic backgrounds and work and study at Freie Universität Berlin. This mix of students and (academic) university staff makes our initiative so unique. Here is a short overview of all members involved in this project course to give you an idea of our background: one PhD student, one law student, two political science students, three project managers at Freie Universität Berlin.

  3. A detailed course plan (in German) including an overview of the compulsory literature for each week can be downloaded from the SUSTAIN IT! website: http://www.fu-berlin.de/sites/sustain/hst/projektkurs_2013_14/131113_Kurskonzept-WS-2013-2014_Vom_Wissen_zum_Handeln.pdf?1389607120.
