Lokalanästhesie in der Zahnheilkunde

Selbst wenn man das 20. Jahrhundert als das Jahrhundert der Entwicklung der lokalanästhetischen Wirkstoffe betrachtet, beginnend mit der Einführung des Procain 1905, bleibt die Anzahl der bis heute entwickelten und in den Markt eingeführten Wirkstoffe überschaubar. Somit verbleiben letztlich mit Lidocain, Mepivacain, Prilocain, Bupivacain und Articain nur fünf lokalanästhetische Wirkstoffe, die sich in Deutschland allerdings höchst ungleichgewichtig in der Marktverteilung widerspiegeln.
