Cranial Stereotactic Radio-Surgery (SRS) using Leksell Gamma Knife® (LGK) technology has been commercially available over the past 40 years. In July of 2010, the first Leksell Gamma Knife® Perfexion™ (LGK PFX) in the southern hemisphere was installed at the Macquarie University Hospital. The authors will describe the commissioning, the quality assurance and clinical applications of the LGK PFX, as well as comparing the commissioning results to multiple worldwide LGK PFX sites. Examples of clinical cases treated with LGK PFX and the dosimetric conformity of treatment planning is also given.
