Abstract

The functionality of maintenance is much enhanced and automated by the implementation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in an organization. CMMS is a maintenance-based software also known as Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) that is utilized to plan, schedule, manage, and monitoring maintenance activities related to equipment, machinery, automobiles, or other facilities and services. The application of CMMS in industries results in increased productivity, increased organizational achievements, improved safety, health & environment, cost savings, and efficient use of resources in industrial sectors. The main objective of the paper is to explore the key performance indicators (KPI) for CMMS selection and benefits of the implementation of CMMS in Indian manufacturing industries through the survey method. From the existing literature, a structured questionnaire is developed to investigate the performance of CMMS in the manufacturing industries. The questionnaire is used for the data collection from the various manufacturing industries and the responses have been analyzed to determine the results. The study explored eleven KPIs for CMMS selection. Seven factors are identified as independent variables, while the remaining four factors are dependent variables. According to the findings, industries that had implemented CMMS benefited greatly from it.
