Abstract

This paper is devoted to performance analysis of curd producing system of milk plant which consists of five subsystems—‘Chiller’, ‘Pasteurizer’, ‘Silos’, ‘Vat Tank’ and ‘Automatic packaging Machine’. All the five subsystems are connected in series configuration. The subsystems ‘Chiller’, ‘Pasteurizer’, ‘Vat Tank’, and ‘Automatic Packaging Machine’ each consists of single unit but the subsystem ‘Silos’ having two similar units in which one is operative and other is in cold standby. Both parameters (i.e. failure rates and repair rates) are replaced by trapezoidal fuzzy numbers with different left and right heights to analyze the curd producing system of milk plant in more realistic environment. Fuzzy availability and fuzzy profit generated by the curd producing system have been evaluated numerically and explored graphically for particular values of various parameters and costs by assuming that all random variables associated with the present system follow exponential, Rayleigh and weibull distribution.
