Résumé

La prise en charge d’un patient infecté est un événement rare. HTLV-1 étant transmis par voie sexuelle, les rapports protégés sont la règle pour les couples sérodifférents pour HTLV-1. La préparation des spermatozoïdes (centrifugation sur gradient de densité) utilisée pour les spermes de patients infectés par VIH a été appliquée. En absence de détection du génome proviral d’HTLV-1 avant et après préparation, le couple a pu être pris en charge en assistance médicale à la procréation (AMP).

Abstract

Management of people infected by HTLV-1 in assisted reproductive technology (ART) is a rare event. Since HTLV is sexually transmitted, HTLV serodiscordant couples have to systematically use condoms. The sperm processing (centrifugation on density gradient) performed for semen of HIV-infected men was applied. Detection of HTLV-1 provirus DNA was negative before and after sperm processing, allowing ART.
