Abstract
The Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) is one of the most important aquaculture species in China. To discover single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) markers for this species, 45 samples were used as templates for PCR validation, and 42 SNP markers were developed in this study. The results showed that the minor allele frequency ranged from 0.0111 to 0.4778, and the observed heterozygosity (Ho) and expected heterozygosity (He) varied from 0.0222 to 0.6000 and 0.1061 to 0.5461, respectively. Among these SNPs, seven loci deviated significantly from the Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium (P < 0.05). These SNPs will facilitate the assessment of genetic diversity and selective breeding programs for E. sinensis.
