## Correction to: Energy Systems https://doi.org/10.1007/s12667-020-00393-w

In the original version of this article, unfortunately series of errors have been introduced during the publication process that compromise the readability of the article to considerate degree. The errors refer to presentation issues and not issues that challenge the scientific evidence provided within the article.

The errors and their corrections are displayed in the following list:

Error number | Page(s) | Error | Correction |
---|---|---|---|

1 | Pages 12–14 | For the mathematical entities and equations in Section 4.2.2, the width of the columns that include the equations is not as in the manuscript that has been provided to editors, and thus, the indices, parameters, decision variable, the constraints and the objective function of the mathematical model presented in those pages are hard to read and comprehend | A better alignment of column width has been introduced in order to present the mathematical model in a proper way |

2 | Pages 16–18 | Similarly to error 1 displayed above, the presentation of indices, parameters, variables, constraints and objective function had to be reformatted to be readable | A better alignment of column width has been introduced in order to present the mathematical model in a proper way |

3 | Pages 21 and 22 | Similarly to errors 1 and 2 displayed above, the presentation of indices, parameters, variables, constraints and objective function had to be reformatted to be readable | A better alignment of column width has been introduced in order to present the mathematical model in a proper way |

4 | Page 16 | The spacing between heading of Section 4.3.2 and the start of the table including the mathematical model is too big | The proper amount of line breaks has been introduced |

5 | Page 21 | Similarly to error 4, The spacing between heading of Section 4.5.2 and the start of the table including the mathematical model is too big | The proper amount of line breaks has been introduced |

6 | Page 3–29 | The title of the article is not properly displayed in the header of pages 3–29 | The title has been included fully |

7 | Page 20 | Figure 5 is not displayed properly due to editing errors | Figure 5 is now included as in the manuscript provided to the editors |

8 | Page 6 | Figure 2 should be at the end of Section 2.2.4 and not in Section 3. In addition, it should be resized as in the manuscript provided to the editors | Corrections were applied |

9 | Page 26 | Figure 6 should be resized to its initial size as in the manuscript provided to the editors | Figure 6 has been resized |

10 | Page 28 | Figure 7 should be resized to its initial size as in the manuscript provided to the editors | Figure 7 has been resized |

11 | Page 26 | Figure 6 should be repositioned to Section 5.3, as in the manuscript provided to the editors | Figure 6 has been repositioned |

12 | Page 27 | Due to repositioning that occurred during the editing process, in Section 5.3, in the last sentence of the first paragraph, “Below, in Fig. 6, an image…” should be changed to “In Fig. 6, an image..” | It has been corrected |

13 | Page 16 | Due to repositioning that occurred during the editing process, in Section 4.3.1, at the last sentence of the first paragraph, “A visual representation of the analysis can be found below (Fig. 4).” should be changed to “A visual representation of the analysis can be found in Fig. 4” | It has been corrected |

14 | Page 15 |
In the last sentence of the last paragraph of Section 4.2.3 in the last parenthesis that the X variables are referenced, there is not the proper spacing around the word “and”
| The contents of the parenthesis has been changed from (\( \bar{X}_{i,k} = \bar{X}_{k,j} = 1and\bar{X}_{i,j} = \bar{L}_{i,j} = 0 \)) to (\( \bar{X}_{i,k} = \bar{X}_{k,j} = 1 \;and\; \bar{X}_{i,j} = \bar{L}_{i,j} = 0 \)). |

16 | Page 19 | Due to repositioning that occurred during the editing process, in Section 4.5.1, the last two sentences of the third paragraph should be merged. Now it is: “Below, we provide an outline of the pre-optimization algorithm utilized for M3. In Fig. 5, we present a graphical representation of the result of the application of the algorithm” | It has been changed to “Below, we provide an outline of the pre-optimization algorithm utilized for M3 and in Fig. 5, we present a graphical representation of the result of the application of the algorithm” |

17 | Page 20 | Section 4.3.3, as provided in the initial manuscript to the editors has been renamed to Section 4.4, and this created a series of errors in the numbering of headings throughout the published article. Section 4.4, of the published article should be 4.3.3 and all of the following headings should be changed accordingly | Headings’ numbering has been corrected |

The original article has been corrected.
