Abstract

Pyrophosphate LiKZnP2O7 has been prepared by a solid state reaction method and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction at room temperature. This compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system with Pc space group. The AC electrical conductivity has been investigated in the frequency range 200 Hz–5 MHz and temperature range 561–696 K. It can be observed from the experimental data that the AC conductivity of this compound is proportional to ω s, (s < 1), the value of s has a tendency to decrease with temperature. The values of the activation energy deduced from the DC conductivity (0.88 eV), modulus (0.84 eV) and hopping frequency (0.81 eV) confirm that the transport in the sample is due to a simple hopping of Li+/K+ ions.
