Hautalterung ist mit anatomischen und physiologischen Veränderungen assoziiert. Diese Veränderungen sind nicht pathologisch, doch die verminderte funktionale Kapazität der Haut erhöht die Anfälligkeit gegenüber Hauterkrankungen und Funktionsstörungen. Gleichzeitig sind die klinischen Ausprägungen von Hautveränderungen insbesondere bei Hochaltrigkeit hochindividuell.
