Neben der bekanntesten sekundären Hyperpigmentierung, dem Melasma der Frauen bei hormoneller Umstellung, gibt es eine Vielzahl von weiteren Erkrankungen mit unterschiedlichen Pathomechanismen. Der folgende Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über die verschiedenen Bilder bis hin zur Sonderform der Ashy dermatosis sowie über mögliche therapeutische Ansätze.
