Zusammenfassung
Hintergrund
Abstract
Background
The treatment of congenital breast malformations is complex and represents a challenge in the plastic surgical practice.
Objective
The aim is to give an overview on congenital breast malformations and the surgical corrections for mammary gland tissue and tuberous breast malformations preferred by the authors for durable and best long-term results.
Material and methods
Different methods for corrective surgery are illustrated using patient examples with different degrees of tuberous breast malformations.
Results
For corrective surgery an individual treatment plan should be created to correct the different aspects of breast malformation. The plan should be based on the age of the patient and the expectations of the postoperative result.
Conclusion
Whenever possible the authors prefer to use autologous reconstructive methods with autologous fat grafting to achieve long-term results in the mostly very young patient group. When implants are used, small ones should be chosen and combined with autologous fat grafting.
