Résumé

Une enquête anonyme accessible en ligne a été diffusée dès février 2014 pour évaluer le ressenti des parents après une hospitalisation en néonatologie. En octobre 2015, plus de 3 300 parents d’enfants hospitalisés à la naissance avaient répondu. La première participation des parents aux soins donnait lieu à des émotions complexes. Les parents rapportaient souhaiter une participation active dans les soins. Le peau à peau était décrit comme étant insuffisamment proposé. Les équipes de soins peuvent s’appuyer sur ces premiers résultats pour mieux répondre aux attentes parentales.

Abstract

An anonymous online survey was conducted between February 2014 and October 2015 to describe parental perceptions concerning their participation in the care of their neonates hospitalized since birth in a neonatal unit in France. More than 3,300 parents completed the questionnaire. Parents felt very stressed the first time they took part in the caring of their neonates. Most parents reported they felt supported by the caregivers but not enough encouraged by them to do simple caregiving activities for which they felt capable. Skin-to-skin care was described as insufficiently proposed
