  1. To impart a common understanding, a DT can include emulation and simulation functions. For instance, the DT in the work of Eckhart and Ekelhart (2018) emulates a real-world counterpart and provides a simulation environment for testing safety and security rules of the real-world counterpart.

  2. Considering that the asset can carry the digital representation of its type, the establishment of suitable reference systems (models) in which important types are described would be beneficial.
