Correction to: Fisheries Science (2019) 85:521–532 https://doi.org/10.1007/s12562-019-01311-5

The authors would like to clarify the definition of the term “total hemocytes” used in the article. Total hemocytes are unstained and unseparated hemocytes. The following corrections have been made to the paper:

In section “Lectin staining of hemocytes by LEL and WGA”, the sentence “After washing twice, hemocytes were analyzed by flow cytometry and observed under a fluorescence microscope” was changed to read: “After washing twice, stained hemocytes were analyzed by flow cytometry and observed under a fluorescence microscope. Unstained hemocytes were also analyzed by flow cytometry as negative control.”

In section “Isolation by MACS of hemocytes dimly stained or strongly stained with LEL”, the sentence “Total, LELDim and LELStrong hemocytes were analyzed by flow cytometry” was changed to read “Separated LELDim and LELStrong hemocytes were analyzed by flow cytometry. Unstained and unseparated hemocytes (total hemocytes) were also analyzed by flow cytometry as negative control”.

In section “Double lectin staining”, the phrase “total hemocytes” in the first sentence was changed to “hemocytes” to prevent confusion.

Figure 1 has been replaced with a rearranged version to prevent confusion, and the legend corrected to state that unstained hemocytes were used as a negative control. The corrected figure and legend are provided here.

In the Figs. 2 and 3 legends, “total hemocytes” have been changed to “hemocytes” to prevent confusion.

In the Figs. 4, 5, and 6 legends, “total hemocytes” has been clarified to mean “Unstained and unseparated hemocytes” to prevent confusion.
