Samenvatting
In dit onderzoek staan de ervaringen van negentien patiënten met hart- en vaatziekten en/of diabetes mellitus type 2 en acht praktijkondersteuners (POH’s) met de begeleide zelfhulpcursus ‘Leren leven met een chronische ziekte’ centraal. Deze cursus is erop gericht de veerkracht van de patiënt te versterken en psychische problemen te voorkomen. Zowel patiënten als POH’s waren overwegend positief over de zelfhulpcursus en gaven de cursus respectievelijk een 6,9 en een 8 als rapportcijfer.
Abstract
This study focuses on the experiences of 19 patients with coronary heart disease and/or type 2 diabetes mellitus and 8 practice nurses with the guided self-help course ‘Learning to cope with a chronic illness’, which is aimed at increasing resilience and preventing psychological problems. Both patients and practice nurses were mainly positive about the self-help intervention. Most patients indicated that they enjoyed working with the intervention and that they could cope better with their chronic illness. Practice nurses found it difficult to motivate patients in completing the self-help course.
