Culturele competenties: noodzaak in zorg voor asielzoekers en vluchtelingen

Samenvatting

Alle zorgverleners krijgen in toenemende mate te maken met asielzoekers en vluchtelingen, ook professionals in de publieke gezondheidszorg. Na een hopelijk zo kort mogelijk verblijf in de opvang voor asielzoekers zullen velen zich de komende tijd als vluchteling vestigen in een Nederlandse gemeente. Vluchtelingen vallen onder het reguliere Nederlandse zorgsysteem en huisartsen zullen veel vluchtelingen in hun spreekkamer zien. Minderjarige vluchtelingen hebben recht op jeugdgezondheidszorg.
