Omdenken in publieke gezondheidszorg, hype of blijvertje?

Kan omdenken de publieke gezondheidszorg helpen bij haar streven naar grotere gezondheidswinst? Om deze vraag te beantwoorden wordt eerst ingegaan op de huidige aanpak in de publieke gezondheidszorg. Vervolgens gaat de focus naar de nieuwe definitie van gezondheid die in opkomst is. Dit nieuwe concept van gezondheid past bij de filosofie van omdenken. Omdenken wordt vervolgens nader onderzocht op haar theoretische kader. De assumptie is dat als omdenken inderdaad een wetenschappelijke basis kent, deze sneller door professionals in de publieke gezondheidszorg geaccepteerd zal worden als nieuwe methodiek. Dan kan, zoals in de titel geopperd, omdenken een blijvertje worden.

Abstract

‘Flipthinking’ in public health, hype or to stay? Can ‘flipthinking’, the art of thinking differently, help the public health in its pursuit of greater health benefits? That is the main question of this position paper. To answer this question we have to look at the current approach in public health first. The next step is to focus on an upcoming new definition of health; this new concept of health fits in the filosophy of ‘flipthinking’. After that the theoretical frame of ‘flipthinking’ will be examined. We can assume that if ‘flipthinking’ is genuinely theoretically based, it will be accepted by professionals as a new method in public health more easily. Then ‘flipthinking’ is here to stay!
