Integrale bekostiging van diabeteszorg duur?

De laatste jaren zijn er veel initiatieven geweest om de doelmatigheid van chronische zorg te verbeteren. Zo zijn zorgstandaarden ontwikkeld voor onder andere diabetes, COPD en vasculair risicomanagement, waarin op hoofdlijnen de zorginhoudelijke en organisatorische eisen van goede multidisciplinaire zorg beschreven wordt. Om de invoering hiervan te bevorderen is het integrale bekostigingsmodel (IB) ontwikkeld. De verwachting van het ministerie van VWS is dat hierdoor de kwaliteit van de zorg verbetert en - door taakherschikking en taakdelegatie binnen de eerste lijn en van de tweede naar de eerste lijn - de zorgkosten dalen.
