Abstract

Fractures of the iliac wing are usually seen after highenergy traumas. Iatrogenic fractures following bone harvesting from the iliac crest are rare and in the absence of other complications can be treated conservatively with good clinical results. One should be aware of the possible risk factors for fractures after iliac crest harvesting and diverge to possible alternatives when necessary.
