Abstract
Pancreatic injury in children after blunt abdominal trauma is a rare but serious complication and occurs in 3-12 % of the cases. In children, conservative treatment of grade I and II pancreatic lesions is generally accepted. However, the initial conservative treatment of grade III and IV (injury to the pancreatic duct) lesions remains controversial. In our hospital we have a tendency for conservative treatment of grade III pancreatic injuries in hemodynamic stable patients. We present our experience with the conservative treatment of stage III pancreatic injury in two patients.
