Traumatische fractuur van een talar beak bij tarsale coalitie

Samenvatting

Tarsale coalitie is een zeldzame aandoening en bestaat uit een volledige of gedeeltelijke vergroeiing van twee of meer tarsalia. Een talar beak vormt zich door een veranderde subtalaire mobiliteit en dient niet verward te worden met degeneratieve osteofytische veranderingen.

Er zijn verschillende radiologische kenmerken die bijdragen aan de herkenning van een talar beak in het kader van een tarsale coalitie. Als er een tarsale coalitie is, en er treedt een fractuur op van de talar beak, kan de fractuurgenezing verstoord raken.

Abstract

Tarsal coalition is an uncommon condition and consists of complete or partial union between two or more bones in the midfoot and hindfoot. A talar beak results from impaired subtalar joint motion and should not be confused with degenerative osteophytic changes. Different radiographic findings could lead to the recognition of a talar beak and subsequently the diagnosis of a tarsal coalition. A fractured talar beak in tarsal coalition may lead to impaired bone healing.
