Screening op diabetes: wie, hoe en waarom (niet)?

Samenvatting

Ruim 1 miljoen Nederlanders hebben momenteel diabetes, voornamelijk type 2 (www.diabetesfonds.nl, 2015). Naar schatting 250.000 mensen daarvan hebben diabetes zonder het te weten. Dit komt omdat het jaren kan duren voordat mensen met diabetes type 2 klachten krijgen, zoals dorst en vaak plassen.
