Bedrijfs- en verzekeringsartsen stellen in hun spreekuur medische beperkingen vast en rapporteren over functionele mogelijkheden. Is er een blijvende situatie ontstaan, komt er doorgaans tweemaal een arbeidsdeskundige de functionele mogelijkheden van de werknemer naast de functie-eisen leggen.
