Samenvatting

Bij patiënten met een gummy smile is bij glimlachen excessief veel gingiva zichtbaar. Mensen ervaren dit vaak als esthetisch storend, maar verbetering hiervan via behandeling is bijna niet mogelijk. In dit artikel beschrijf ik de behandeling bij een patiënt die verwezen was met een restauratie- en een slijtageprobleem. Na afbehandeling kwam een gunstige bijkomstigheid naar voren: de gummy smile van de patiënt blijkt gereduceerd.
