Nieuwe technieken zijn ook in de tandtechniek niet altijd zaligmakend. Vaak manifesteren zich na een aantal jaren onverwachte nadelen van een nieuw product. Teruggrijpen op het oude vertrouwde is soms de goede keuze. Zeker als een bewezen techniek gemodificeerd kan worden.
