Samenvatting
Cerebraal visuele stoornissen (cerebral visual impairment; CVI) is een verzamelnaam voor visuele stoornissen als gevolg van schade aan of een aanlegstoornis van het visuele systeem in de hersenen. Diagnostiek van CVI is complex en vraagt om een multidisciplinaire benadering met een neuropsychologische kern. De International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) dient als raamwerk voor een compleet beeld van het kind. Vanwege comorbiditeit en/of leeftijd kan het lastig zijn om visuele functies in kaart te brengen, ze te onderscheiden van andere stoornissen, de onderlinge relaties te zien en te komen tot een valide diagnose CVI. Dit wordt geïllustreerd aan de hand van drie casussen.
