Samenvatting

Wereldwijd worden per jaar 234 miljoen operaties uitgevoerd2) en meer dan 50 procent van de postoperatieve complicaties in ziekenhuizen kan worden toegeschreven aan chirurgische interventies.3) Door de toenemende technische kennis en mogelijkheden worden steeds meer complexe chirurgische ingrepen verricht, met mogelijk een nog grotere kans op postoperatieve complicaties.
